Our School Tour

The Junior and Senior Infant classes enjoyed a fantastic day at Kennedy’s Pet Farm in Killarney. The children had great fun looking for fairy doors, petting the animals, going to all the play areas and travelling on a bus. The children found it funny when the deer stole some sugar from the teachers tea. He even ate the packet!

“Breaking News”

The Juniors have been practicing their handwriting by writing “Our News” everyday. Look at their beautiful handwriting.

Holy Communion Day paintings

We did some lovely paintings for the boys and girls on their Holy Communion Day.

🧘‍♀️ Yoga 🧘‍♂️

The children are really improving their yoga skills, balance and coordination through head stands, hand stands, concentrating, wheel barrow races, various poses and bench work.
Well done everyone 👏

Finger Painting: The children used finger painting to create some May flowers.

My Future Self: The children looked at people working in our local community. The children then draw themselves in the future working in their community.

Autism Awareness Day😃

We all wore blue on Friday to show that we are unique and we must all show kindness and respect to each other. Well done to Miss Kissane and Mr Kelly for organizing.

Maths

Juniors have been very busy working on number with Ms Hallissey. The Juniors are using lots of our Maths equipment to learn about adding number.

Farm🐷

We have been learning all about the Farm in Juniors. We made some lovely pigs during art which lead nicely onto the story The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of The Thee Little Pigs

Butter

The children are learning all about the farm as part of Aistear. We are learning about all the farm animals and all about farming. We then looked at the cow. We looked at our lunch boxes and discovered that we had milk, cheese, butter and yogurt all of these are dairy products.   Today we made butter as a class.

Yoga 🧘‍♀️

The Juniors enjoyed their first Yoga session. They had to quickly learn lots of new poses. We are all looking forward to next week already.

Paired Reading📖📖📖📖

Junior Infants enjoyed paired reading with 3rd class.

World Book Day 📕📗📘📙📓

We enjoyed World Book Day at Fossa NS on Thursday. Children in Junior Infants dressed up as a character from their favourite book or they brought in a prop from their favourite book. We had to guess who they were. We visited the library on the day and we also did paired reading with the big boys and girls in 3rd class. We also made our very own books which we gave to someone special. We had a great day. Happy World Book day 2018

Pancake Tuesday 🍽🍽🍽

Before our Easter holidays we went to the teachers staff room and we made lovely pancakes. They were delicious.
