Fourth Class Did Us Proud

The Junior boys  basketball team from 3rd and 4th class got to the Sheild semi-final and narrowly lost out.

The Junior girls team from 3rd and 4th class got to the Cup semi-final and unfortunately lost out too. They will now contest the bronze 3rd place play-off in the Cup competition.
Both teams did a fantastic job over the two weeks of matches and should be very proud of themselves.

Our Cycle to Ross Castle

Everyone in 4th Class had a fantastic day out on our cycle to Ross Castle. Along with the fabulous weather the boys and girls did a brilliant job cycling such a distance. Well done to all, looking forward to our next cycle already!

October 2021

Class Project

Over the past number of weeks 4th class have been getting very creative with a class project guided by Ms. Kearney. The children discussed where Fossa National school is currently and the features it has. They then became planners, architects and designers as they came up with a new school for Fossa for the year 2040! They had to identify a location, what type of renewable energy it would have and the facilities within their school. Please enjoy the photos below which demonstrates the fantastic, creative and unique ideas they all came up with!

Baking Cupcakes

Last week we got our baking hats on and had loads of fun baking cupcakes!! The children did a fantastic job weighing out the ingredients, following the recipe and the best part of all…getting to decorate their cupcake after with all the fun toppings!! I’m sure they tasted just as yummy as they looked! Well done everyone!

Killarney National Park and Golf Club Walk

Our walk through the National Park and into the Killarney Golf Club. We had a fabulous day for our walk and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

September 2021

Here’s a look back on what fourth class have been getting up to during the month of September.

A walk through Killarney National Park

We had great fun enjoying the good weather at the start of the year with a walk through Killarney National Park. We went all the way to the playground in Knockreer. Although we were all very tired after it, we had a fantastic day out!

English stations

All the boys and girls have been working very hard at their subjects. Here are some pictures during our English stations including sound sorting, oral language games, Ipad work and comprehension cards.

We celebrated Roald Dahl day

Here are some of the other activities and pieces of artwork the boys and girls have been creating over the past few weeks. We also celebrated Roald Dahl day on the 13th September which was full of interesting information about the man himself. They created their own fact files on the author and also showed off their artistic skills while following the great illustrator Quentin Blake showing them how he created the iconic characters.

Our gymnastic classes

We’ve not only been busy in the classroom but also outside of it with our gymnastic classes in the hall. Everyone is trying their best and learning many new skills while having lots of fun!!
